Shannon started taking pictures for our family about three years ago. Up until that time I had never had professional photograph (aside from school pictures and the big box store Christmas card photos). Our first experience with Shannon completely changed the way that I felt about custom photography. In my opinion, it’s a must have, not just a luxury. Our family is blessed to have these beautiful works of art that capture a little bit of who we are in each of them.

Shannon has always had a great connection with our family. My boys will do just about anything for her (with a smile!) Our sessions are always so laid back and fun!

When I saw the ”sneak peak” from this year’s shoot, my heart nearly leapt out of my chest. It was as if my heart was displayed right there in front of me on the computer screen! My greatest joys in this lifetime have come from being a wife and mother and Shannon’s photography captures the “moments” of those joys.

this was an experiment. I had seen a similar photo in an on-line gallery and love how it represented the “pace” of life with three boys. Shannon was totally game for trying it out. I love how it turned out and the boys had a fabulous time when we were working at setting up the shot.

love how these capture their nature smile. not a forced cheesy smile. Shannon is the BEST at getting natural smiles from my boys. Can you tell which boy is the feisty one?

our journey together in this life with this little family is the best! I love how happy and in this case goofy we can get with each other. this is all part of the fun of being with Shannon during a session.

in our first photo shoot three years ago there was a shot of our entire family sitting on a rock about this same size. I lovingly refer to that shot as “the family rock”…it still hangs in my hallway today. this photo reminds me that my boys are growing quickly and that these photo sessions are all that more important to me….a glimpse of what they are today…

life with three boys is always an adventure, never a dull moment. If there is a rock it must be thrown, if there is a stick it must be picked up, if there is a bug it must be touched…This photo represents all the “play” that is involved with having little boys.

this is my heart. my boys mean everything to me. an enlargement of this photo will hang in my office. during tax season this will be my motivation during long tax season hours. I so enjoy having beautiful pictures of my family looking back at me as I sit at my desk pounding out tax returns…they are my joy.

this captures Ted so perfectly. He’s a great dad, who loves his boys more than life. love how it captures his special connection with our youngest, John John.

Picking favorites has always been difficult with Shannon because she gets so many great shots and special moments that I end up wanting every single one. So this year after much back and forth I decided to go with the digital package so I didn’t have to pick. I’m very excited to start filling the walls of my home and my office with these works of art from Defining Details Photography by Shannon.
